Mattresses are not included due to the extra cost it would incur by the separate collection required, a Council spokesperson advised.
"A separate pickup run... would of course be of an extra cost to the ratepayer. It's also not something we can recycle in-house, it would have to be processed by another contractor, so again another cost to the ratepayer," they said.
"The good news however is that we have vouchers available at OCC customer service that don't expire until June 20, 2021, which allows residents to take their mattress... to the Resource Recovery Centre for free.
"It usually costs up to $25 to dispose a mattress, so the voucher system is worthwhile."
Bulky waste will continue to be picked up from residences located to the east of Anson Street (also known as Section/Week B) until February 12.
However Council has asked that no new items be put on kerbs.
Residents west of Anson Street will have their waste collected from Monday, February 15.
A full list of items which Council will not collect during its bulk waste pick-up is available on its website.
