We are just questioning the feasibility of the planned site.
We do not deny the social inclusion and the community pride it will generate, we just do not want to lose any more trees in Orange.
My major worry about this site choice (apart from the tree loss) is the traffic it will generate and the parking area it will demand.
Ever since the road to the hospital was rebuilt I have been concerned about the narrow concourse that was developed.
If traffic is moving both ways, where does an emergency ambulance go in its rush to reach the hospital?
If there is the normal weekend sport at Jack Brabham and the new stadium is in full swing, how do the hospital visitors and ambulances, not to ignore the residents of say Cadia et al travel unencumbered, to their destinations.
Our council does not seem to recognise the benefits of trees and open space in our town - example the green we will lose when the conservatorium and planetarium go in where we now enjoy the space behind the art gallery.
How many of the developers who are currently opening new housing estates are required to provide green spaces?
Orange is a wonderful place, please do not spoil it in the pursuit of the mighty dollar.
