Orange City is in a spot of bother as the likes of Lachie Coyte and Dave Boundy have confirmed their absence for the remainder of the season, the former moving to Manly for work and the latter suffering a season-ending arm injury.

To add to that, Jaymes Thomas is also set to be sidelined for an extended period of time, meaning the depth of Ed Morrish's side will truly be tested, starting on day two of their round 11 clash against CYMS.

The Warriors got rolled for 71 on the opening day of action and now, will look to bowl out CYMS for a slim chance at an outright win.

The green and golds currently sit at 7/114 and Morrish's goal for Saturday is simple - send them packing.

"We've got 80 overs in the day so we've got to get three wickets really quickly," he said.

"It's a balance act for us... we don't want to give up too many runs while going for three wickets but we always don't want to be too defensive at the same time.

"With the majority of their best bats in the sheds, hopefully it's a bit easier for us."

Winning three competitions in-a-row is something that sides seldom achieve and Morrish knows it won't be easy to hit the trifecta, especially under the current circumstances.

"We've been up for so long... we know how to win games when it gets tight," he said.

"But, we're just running out of cattle at the moment but at this stage we've got to make do with what we've got.

"There's still incredible depth at the club. We've won games this season with four or five of our first 11 out."

The skipper knows there's plenty of talent to turn to but for him, it's about those experienced guys - such as himself - performing at a higher level.

"Myself, Brett Causer and Shaun Grenfell need to step up," he said.

"I've had a shocker... I haven't been playing well at all."

"I'm not worried, though. Blake [Weymouth] and Harry [McGregor] have been outstanding for us."

Looking at the ladder, it appears as though St Pat's Old Boys will likely finish in first but Morrish spoke about the importance of securing that runner-up spot.

"I'm targeting a top two finish," he said.

"It gives you that extra game in the finals. If you play the major semi and lose, you've still got a game in hand."

Looking at the team above, Morrish isn't surprised to see St Pat's where they are and attributes both their success and potential to a particular part of their roser.

"The most important thing to have around here is a good bowling attack," he said.

"You can have bits and pieces but if you can't defend it then what's the point?

"That's not to ignore their batting talent. They've got good talent there. But for me, it's their bowling talent that sets them apart."
