Sydney company Laservision will put on several laser light shows at Wade Park on Thursday night as the highlight of a community celebration.
Lasers and lights have been placed around the edge of the Wade Park ground this week as the crew prepared for the event.
We've got over 50 moving lights, we've got a number of high powered lasers that are going to span 360 degrees the whole way round.
- Shannon Brooks, CEO, Laservision
Laservision CEO Shannon Brooks said it would be a night to remember. He said it would be a different experience to fireworks.
"Obviously everyone loves their fireworks, you get a six minute wow," he said.
"What we can do with different lights and laser technologies is extend that experience.
"It is more creating an immersive experience compared to some big bangs in the sky.
"It is going to be an amazing, enthralling spectacular."
Mr Brooks said his company had 35 years experience and had created a unique show for Orange.
"We've got over 50 moving lights, we've got a number of high powered lasers that are going to span 360 degrees the whole way round. [There's] multiple truck loads of equipment that we've brought in just for the show," he said.
"We're using the latest in [lighting] as well as some as extremely high-powered lasers just to penetrate through the sky and create that immersive experience."
He said the event was set to go ahead regardless of wet weather.
"The storms we've had over the last couple of days have obviously thrown a few challenges, but thanks to all the guys who have pitched in and helped we've managed to put together a fantastic show," he said.
Mr Brooks said initial plans to incorporate water sprays and mists in the show had been changed.
"No water is used in this show. We've shifted away from the water show. A light, laser and sound spectacular is more sustainable."
Tickets, $5 each, are on sale through the Light Up Orange website, for the event which starts at 6.30pm.
All tickets need to be booked in advance.
