Brendon John Dittmar, 20, of McLachlan Street was driving along the Northern Distributor Road at 3.55am on August 16 when police saw him travelling in the same direction.
Police saw the Ford Falcon he was driving turn left onto Astill Drive.
According to information tendered to the court, Dittmar stopped briefly before accelerating and losing traction.
Dittmar's car fishtailed and he performed a doughnut spinning the car 360 degrees.
Police followed him and turned on their lights and sirens and stopped him in Colliers Avenue.
He shouldn't have been driving at all.
- Police prosecutor Sergeant Beau Riley
When they asked him for his driver's licence he said he didn't have one in his possession and when he was asked if he had been drinking he said, "I had a couple".
He was arrested and taken to Orange Police Station for analysis after returning a positive alcohol result.
He told police he drank two vodka pre-mixed drinks and he returned a mid-range reading of 0.135.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Beau Riley said Dittmar had a suspended provisional driver's licence.
"He shouldn't have been driving at all," Sergeant Riley said.
Magistrate David Day convicted Dittmar and placed him on a six-month community correction order, disqualified his driver's licence for three months and placed him on a 12-month interlock order for mid-range drink-driving.
Mr Day also placed him on a six-month CCO and disqualified his driver's licence for six months for driving while his licence was suspended.
He also gave him a 12-month CCO and disqualified his driver's licence for 12 months for the loss of traction offence.
