The 27-year-old man is not named to protect the identity of the victim.
According to police, the female victim was at home in Orange at 10pm on June 13, when the man came home with another woman's name written on his arm.
The man and woman then started arguing and the man went into a bedroom and punched a hole in the wall.
The woman left the address and when she arrived home she saw the damage and said she would phone the police.
However, to prevent her phoning the police, the man stayed at her house.
She was finally able to call the police on June 17 when the man eventually left her house.
The man was not represented when he appeared before magistrate David Day in Orange Local Court via an audio visual link from jail.
He was in custody having served a jail sentence for another matter until October 30, and he remained in jail having been refused bail for the June 13 offences.
The man said he would move to Bourke upon his release from jail and a two-year apprehended violence order was put in place to protect the victim.
"The offending is aggravated, it occurred in the home of the victim," Mr Day said.
Mr Day convicted the man and gave him a three concurrent three-year community correction orders with a requirement he participate in rehabilitation programs for damaging the bedroom wall, contravening an AVO and intimidation.
