Cr Glenn Taylor said he had received many calls from residents about high grass on private blocks, on roadsides and other property around Orange.
This season is one of the worst I've seen.

"I've had so many complaints about long grass in blocks, council [land] and other ones," he said.
"This season is one of the worst I've seen."
Cr Taylor said under state government rules councils needed to refer complaints to the Rural Fire Service to assess and then make an order calling on the owner to clean up the block. He said the process wasted time.
"Privately-owned blocks are presenting all sorts of problems for us," he said.
"I'll put something before council to [ask] the relevant authorities to give councils the power."
Cr Taylor said one block he received complaints about was in Terry Turner Drive. "It's a real bad one," he said.
He said he was also concerned about long grass on Torulosa Way, the same place where a grass fire burned about two years ago.
Cr Kevin Duffy told council last week bus drivers were struggling to see children waiting to be collected because roadside grass was so long in places.
"The bus driver, he drives straight past because the grass is that long, he can't see them," he said.
Cr Duffy said a parent had cut the grass to help her children, "so the kids have somewhere safe to get away from snakes and be off the road and be collected. They are senior students. On the Ophir Road, the Pinnacle Road, you've got long grass everywhere," he said.
