David Scott Ostini, 48, of Kenna Street, was disqualified from driving until March 2024 when he was caught driving an unregistered car in Kenna Street this year.
Police saw Ostini driving in Moulder Street before turning onto Kenna Street and pulling into his own driveway at 1pm on September 17. He then got out while the vehicle was still moving.
Magistrate David Day gave Ostini a seven-month community-based custodial sentence by way of an Intensive Corrections Order, 20-hours of community services and he disqualified his driver's licence for 12 months for driving while disqualified.
"It's his fifth serious unlawful driving," Mr Day said.
"He has a bad record in general, which doesn't assist him.
"The next port of call for a sentence for this offence is likely to be time in custody."
However, he said he was assisted in this case by an early guilty plea.
Mr also convicted Ostini without further action for driving an unregistered car.
