Fiona Schofield Millinery will run the pop-up shop at the Corner Store Gallery on the corner of Byng and Autumn Streets for a week from Saturday.
Mrs Scofield said this is her third pop-up shop but due to changes to events brought about by COVID-19 precautions it will be a bit different this year.
She said this year she is mostly making and selling sun hats.
"Usually it ties in really well with the Spring Racing Carnival, which doesn't have much on this year," Mrs Schofield said.
However, she said people have still been wanting to purchase her hats and this is a chance for them to meet her and see the hats in person.
The pop-up shop will run from October 17 to 25 between 10-4pm on weekends and 10-5.30pm on weekdays.
Tools for tradies
A new tool shop that has a focus on providing power tools and equipment to industry and tradies is set to open later this month.
The fit-out for the latest Sydney Tools store is underway in Peisley Street and Sydney Tools director Jason Bey said the business is looking to hire upwards of 15 staff. Contact 0498 217 434 for more information.
He said shops like Bunnings serve the DIY market but Sydney Tools is the next level up for those who rely on hand and power tools for their job, and Orange had the industries the business caters to.
He said this will be the 44th store but the first in the Central West.
"Orange has been in our interest for a very long time," Mr Bey said.
"Since the inception of Sydney Tools in 2001 we would always have people who would travel to our Sydney Shop."
Terminus upgrade
Work is underway at the former Terminus and Railway Hotel to restore the upstairs verandah and convert the former apartments into short term accommodation.
Building owner Robert Ristvej used to have offices down stairs but has now fitted them out to be leased to other businesses and with the business space up for lease he has turned his attention upstairs.
