It's been a long time between drinks but the Orange City women's side has won its first Westfund Ferguson Cup game in two years as Emily Kennedy's troops took out Forbes 31-24 at Wade Park on Saturday afternoon.

And even though it takes some crafty attack to put 30 points past your opposition, the skipper put the performance down to some excellent defence that's been on the improve for the last fortnight.
"Our defence was outstanding," Kennedy said.
"It's improved so much and was so good compared to how it's been in recent weeks.
"We put into practice the stuff we did at training and it really worked in our favour."
The win added to what was an extremely triumphant day for City as there wasn't a single losing Lion at Pride Park on Saturday, making for a fun evening of festivities.

"It was a pretty big night for Orange City," she said.
"It was unreal... the last proper game we won was two years ago."
Claire Baker was strong up the middle as usual while Bec Davis led from the front as well.
The victory allows the Lions to finish the season with a positive ahead of what Kennedy hopes to be a successful 2021.
"It's really what we needed," she said. "It was good to finish on a high."
