A man aged in his 20s was in Westmead Hospital on Sunday following a violent assault in Orange early Saturday morning.

Central West Police District Acting Inspector Luke Cole said the man was assaulted in the Glenroi area at 2.30am on Saturday.
Acting Inspector Cole said the man was assaulted by an unknown number of people.
"He received reasonably serious injuries, he was transferred to a hospital in Sydney," Acting Inspector Cole said.
He said the man was in a "serious but stable condition" in hospital on Sunday.
"Central West detectives are investigating that matter," Acting Inspector Cole said.
"We are seeking anyone who has any information on the matter."
