Newly launched, The Orange Podcast is the latest online information service from the council.
It has teamed up with Orange company The Little Podcast Co. which is directed by Kyle and Holly Manning.
Each week one of the producers will join council staff ranging from the CEO to water and sewer engineers to chat about community topics.
Mayor Reg Kidd said council would engage residents through a different medium.
"The podcast gives residents the chance to keep up to date with what is happening around town and within council but in a way that isn't just your usual post on social media or online article," he said.
CEO David Waddell said it was a "simple but engaging" way to keep in touch.
"So far there are seven weekly episodes on our platform that cover a number of different topics such as water, development applications, COVID-19 and many more," he said.
"We've got 150 downloads since we started, and we're now averaging between 35-50 listeners."
He said the podcasts were available from Monday mornings.
"They only go for 5-10 minutes, but touch on some really interesting topics that are always relevant to what the community want to know.
The podcast is available to listen to online at https://www.buzzsprout.com/1069972 or you can access it through iTunes, Spofity and Google.
