Technical services librarian Ros Dorsman said they have added Beamafilms and TumbleBooks to their online subscription to provide an alternative option for entertainment and information.
Beamafilms is an Australiasian streaming channel for true stories and independent voices while TumbleBooks allows children to access a variety of eBooks, audio books and math picture books.
"We wanted to give the community an opportunity to access more online services while they remain at home because of COVID-19 and social distancing measures," she said.
Ms Dorsman said the Beamafilms service showcases a wide range of classic Australian films including the Light Horseman, Rats of Tobruk, Mad Dog Morgan and Storm Boy.
"Some of the library staff used the service and they were impressed with the Australian movie selection," she said.
"We also offer another movie service called 'Canopy' which offers more international films and they are currently available to library members."
Ms Dorsman also said TumbleBooks is open to members and non-members and focuses on keeping children entertained and informed.
"This free service is fantastic for children in kindergarten to year 6 because it delivers a wide variety of books and resources," she said.
