Rex Airlines has announced it will add a second return service from Sydney-Orange from this week with flights now available on Fridays and Tuesdays.
Fly Corporate will resume Orange services from next Monday.
A flight to Melbourne will operate on Mondays and Thursdays with a flight to Brisbane available on Tuesdays and Fridays.
NSW Trainlink rail and coach connection services are operating to and from Orange however passenger numbers are well down.
A Transport for NSW spokesman said there had been a decline of about 75-85 per cent in passengers across NSW.
Meanwhile, Australia Wide Coaches has suspended its regular Orange-Bathurst-Sydney services until May 30.
A spokesman said a review would take place in mid-May to consider whether the coach service could resume from June 1. It has not run since mid-March.
Rex deputy chairman John Sharp said federal government funding had enabled it to increase its services.
He said it would allow access to flights to capital cities for people with "medical, professional and other essential travel needs" which otherwise Rex could not have provided for at least six months.
Mr Sharp said it might take up to two years before Rex could return regional airline routes to their former level of service.
"With the Commonwealth assistance packages for regional carriers in place, we are confident that we will be able to help all regional communities who are willing to work in partnership with us to rebuild their regional air services to their full potential over the next two years," Mr Sharp said.
"Rex will stand by all regional communities that have stood by Rex during this global and national crisis."
Mr Sharp said Rex had now received funding to operate 88 weekly return services across Australia.
He said tickets for most of the extra flights were now on sale.
Qantas has announced it would start airline services between Sydney and Orange from May. It was contacted by the Central Western Daily for details about its plans but did not respond before our deadline.
