The concert is raising money for Push for Palliative and sold out five weeks ago.

Dr Ian Carter, a specialist anesthetist from Orange Health Service invited the orchestra to perform and on Sunday 73 members would perform at Orange Civic Theatre.

"We've found over the years that doctors have always had a passion for music," Dr Carter said.

"We now do regional concerts in a regional city once a year and a capital city once a year so we are delighted to bring the orchestra to Orange.

"We're here with about 73 orchestra members from all over Australia, take the bass section for example, we've got a bass player from Darwin, Perth, myself from Orange.

"I also have a hobby of playing double bass, as a musician I play in the local Orange symphony and also get together and play in the Australian Doctor's Orchestra and a bass player."

Orchestra chairwoman Dr Anna Glue said soloist Rachael Kwa would perform a solo and orchestra members received the music online so they could practice before the group rehearsals started on Friday.

"Every concert we choose a charity to raise money for and we always choose a local charity and the team in Orange and Dr Sam Kwa suggested Orange Push for Palliative," Dr Glue said.

Orange Push for Palliative president Jenny Hazelton welcomed the orchestra and said the organisation was advocating for permanent palliative care beds.

"We want them permanent we don't want a trial, the trial has been great, it's been well utilised by the community and the feedback has been unanimously positive," she said.

"We're so pleased that they are hear and they are sounding great, they've only been rehearsing for two hours and it's been terrific."

The concert will be held at Orange Civic Theatre on Sunday.

Dr Sam Kwa will perform a solo and other music will include Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture.
