The Country Women's Association Orange branch is hosting an evening of relaxation, fun and a touch of glamour with canapes and sparkling wine at The Oriana Orange on March 6 from 4pm to 6pm.
Branch secretary Deborah Marr said any women could attend the event to celebrate the efforts and achievements of women in the community as well as their own contributions to their family and society.
Ms Marr said the branch hosts International Women's Day activities every year and often it has involved making presentations about standout women from different countries or professions.
However, she said in light of the recent bushfires and affects of drought they decided to do something different this year.
"This year has been a terrible year with fires and drought so we thought we would do a real celebration," Ms Marr said.
"[This is] a time for women to sit back and relax and enjoy themselves and reflect on how much has been achieved by women in these difficult times with the drought."
Registrations for the CWA Because You've Earned it event are due on Friday, February 28, tickets are $50 per woman or $57.65 per man and can be purchased online at www.evenbrite.com.au, or phone 0408 254 360.
