Michael Brennan, 21 man remains in a critical condition at Westmead Hospital, after coming off his dirt bike earlier this month. His family remain by his side in Sydney.
The crash occurred on January back on January 18, at a private property on Kellys Road, Fitzgeralds Mount, between Bathurst and Blayney, just after 6.30pm.
Paramedics treated Mr Brennan on the ground to stabilise him, before he was airlifted in the rescue helicopter, which had landed on site.
Police, who also responded as part of emergency services, said Mr Brennan was injured after losing control of his dirt bike and hitting the ground.
With Michael remaining at Westmead Hospital for at least the immediate future, his extended family and friends have rallied and are organising a fundraising event being held at The Farmers Arms on February 29 and March 1.
Rod Lund, who is helping organise the event, said it will be held over Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, February 29, two rides will leave the Farmers Arms Hotel at 9.30am and 2.30pm.
Cost is $10 donation to ride with a lucky door prize per ride.
On Sunday there will be a car and bike show, also at the Farmers Arms Hotel, getting underway at 9am. Cost is $5 per car entry and gold coin donation for general public.
Mr Lund said local businesses had been very supportive and thanked Compleat Angler and Camping, Custom Colours and The Farmers Arms for their support.
He said the day was about raising money for Michael.
"His family are there seven days a week. I've been down on the weekends, but I can't be there all the time, so this is something we can do to help out," he said.
One of Mr Brennan's friends, Jake West, also started a Go Fund Me page to help support Mr Brennan through his recovery. For people wanting to donate, go to Go Fund Me, Raising Funds for Michael Brennan.
