From 6am on Wednesday, roads surrounding the Carrington Park precinct will begin to close, with all roads expected to be closed by 4pm once gates open to the event.
Road closures will be in place for Durham, Bentinck, Howick and Seymour streets.
Bathurst mayor Bobby Bourke said it's important for concert goers to plan alternatives to driving to accommodate the expected high volume of traffic.
"There's not many regional cities in Australia that have the opportunity to see Elton on his final tour," Cr Bourke said.
There will be four special bus services between 3pm and midnight servicing Kelso, Eglinton, Windradyne and Mount Panorama at the cost of a gold coin.
In addition, there will be 'Park and Ride' options available from Mount Panorama and Hereford Street for people who need their vehicles to get closer to the venue.
Concert goers within close proximity to the venue are encouraged to walk [if possible] or use public transport.
While there will be parking in the CBD available [including disabled parking in the Armada Shopping Centre], it is expected to be impacted by road closures and designated taxi, Uber and bus ranks.
The designated taxi rank will be situated in Howick Street, outside Armada, while the Uber rank will be in William Street, between Howick and Durham streets.
THE STAGE
One of the largest stages ever seen in Bathurst has started to take shape at Carrington Park in preparation for Sir Elton John's grand concert.
The stage was ferried in on 24 semi-trailers and workers have been busy since late last week assembling the structure.
Matthew Lazarus-Hall, the tour producer on behalf of Chugg Entertainment, said the stage takes six days to fully assemble.
We're expecting the sound and lighting equipment to turn up (Monday and Tuesday) and once complete, the stage will look absolutely amazing.

Elton's Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour has sold out nearly 40 shows across Australia and New Zealand.
"As we said in our original brief, the stage goes from one side of the football ground to the other," Mr Lazarus-Hall said.
"We're expecting the sound and lighting equipment to turn up (Monday and Tuesday) and once complete, the stage will look absolutely amazing."
On Wednesday, Bathurst is expecting a top of 33 degrees with zero per cent chance of rainfall according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
