With a crowd of 20,000 expected to pack into Carrington Park next Wednesday for Sir Elton John's concert, ticket holders from Orange are being reminded to plan their night ahead of schedule.
From 6am next Wednesday, roads surrounding the Carrington Park precinct will begin to close, with all roads expected to be closed by 4pm once gates open to the event.
Road closures will be in place for Durham, Bentinck, Howick and Seymour streets.
Bathurst mayor Bobby Bourke said it's important for concert-goers to plan alternatives ahead of what is expected to be unprecedented levels of traffic in the area.
"There's not many regional cities in Australia that have the opportunity to see Elton on his final tour," Cr Bourke said.
"Bathurst Regional Council's events staff have worked tirelessly over the last 12 months to ensure everything goes right on the night."

There will be four special bus services between 3pm and midnight servicing Kelso, Eglinton, Windradyne and Mount Panorama at the cost of a gold coin.
In addition, there will be 'Park and Ride' options available from Mount Panorama and Hereford Street for people who need their vehicles to get closer to the venue.
Concert goers within close proximity to the venue are encouraged to walk [if possible] or use public transport.
While there will be parking in the CBD available [including disabled parking in the Armada Shopping Centre], it is expected to be impacted by road closures and designated taxi, Uber and bus ranks.
The designated taxi rank will be situated in Howick Street, outside Armada, while the Uber rank will be in William Street, between Howick and Durham streets.
Cr Bourke said the event will provide a boost for the local economy and open another avenue for tourism.
"I don't know if we could measure success any higher than Elton John, but I'd like to see this event encourage other high-profile artists to visit Bathurst," he said.
