Adrian Cavallaro, who people might know from his pastry chef skills at the Sugar Mill, has started Arancia Woodfired Pizza, a mobile pizza business together with wife Charis.

Mr Cavallaro said he had wanted to pursue the idea at events and functions for the past two years.

"We purchased the trailer two weeks ago - when it came up, I couldn't turn it down," he said.

He said his bases would be made from sourdough, with a starter already on the run - a starter is a leavening agent made from live yeast, which helps dough to rise and can last decades.

"I made my starter three months ago," Mr Cavallaro said.

A CLOTHING repair business has moved from the Five Ways to McNamara Street to take advantage of an increasingly popular street.

Get Stitched Up moved last week - owner Lisa Martin said when her lease at William Street ended, she settled on the former Orange Glass Repairs store.

She said the location offered her more space.

"It's got good parking and it's close to the CBD - people can do their shopping and swing by," she said.

Ms Martin said alterations on internet purchases and repairs remained popular, while other customers asked her to re-purpose old clothes they still loved.

AN Orange-based business dealing in global trade has started looking closer to home to help businesses thrive.

Brendan Gunn has run BG Global for the past three years, which included trading website The Industry Spread.

But with a web development team in place, Mr Gunn said the chance to diversify opened and Brendan Gunn Media Group was born earlier this month, targeted at the region's businesses.

"I like dealing with the business challenges of different organisations and meeting their needs," he said.

Mr Gunn also hoped to work with community groups and not-for-profits.

RDA Central West has opened the Seed Scheme to business women in Cabonne.

Chair Christine Weston said the program supported 700 female-led businesses nationally and included a mentor and networking opportunities.

"This can be a new business idea, or an established business who is looking to expand and go from strength to strength," she said.
