The 22-year-old recently became qualified as a personal trainer and started her service with the new year.
Mrs Penny said her netball training had involved contact with personal trainers to develop her fitness and resilience on the court.
“It went hand-in-hand with strength training so we didn’t get thrown around too much,” she said.
“I found it so interesting, especially rehab and coming back from [injury].”
Mrs Penny hoped to establish herself at Orange Central Fitness during the year and also run boot camp group sessions at Elephant Park.
It’s a great feeling getting people to reach their goals and become a better and better version of themselves.

While she joked she had wanted to strangle her PTs on occasion when the muscles were burning, she said it was a great feeling to achieve results, and she wanted the same for her clients.
“It’s a great feeling getting people to reach their goals and become a better and better version of themselves,” she said.
SEAMSTRESS IS OPEN TO GETTING STITCHED UP
A NEW William Street shop will give conscious consumers the chance to repair instead of replace clothes which have tears or holes.
Lisa Martin has opened Get Stitched Up, a sewing alterations and repair business which also sells sustainability-themed items such as reusable shopping totes, knitted dish cloths, exfoliating cloths and reusable snack bags.
“I love the fact people are thinking about their environment and choosing to reuse rather than throw out and re-buy,” Ms Martin said.

Ms Martin said a new zipper of button replacement is an easy fix, and sometimes a couple of darts can make for a better fit.
“Sometime something can be tweaked rather than starting from scratch,” she said.
Over winter, Get Stitched Up will host knitting and crocheting events for attendees to work on their projects or start something new.
To launch the new location Ms Martin will host a welcome function for clients on Thursday, with bubbles and discounts available between 5pm-7pm.
