A 15-year-old boy is in a serious condition in hospital after the car he was driving crashed into a tree west of Orange on Friday night.

A NSW Police spokeswoman said the boy was in the car with a boy, 15 and another boy, 16, when the crash occurred at about 11pm.
The spokeswoman said all three occupants were from Molong.
She said the accident happened on Norah Creek Road at Gumble, west of Molong.
"It was a single vehicle accident," she said.
"It failed to negotiate a bend and hit a tree."

The driver was flown to Westmead Hospital in Sydney.
She said he had to undergo surgery and was in a serious condition.
The spokeswoman said the two passengers were taken to Orange hospital.
She said one of them was released from hospital while the other was admitted to hospital but did not know his condition or whether he had since been released.
The car involved in the accident was a Toyota RAV4.
