Orange Aquatic Centre will be closed from 11am on Sunday after the city again woke to a thick blanket of smoke on Sunday morning, the city's Air Quality Index rating the worst in the state.

The Gospers Mountain and Grose Valley fires both continue to rage out of control and an easterly breeze has pushed smoke from those blazes west.
The NSW Planning Industry and Environment AQI places Orange's air quality at 1116 on Sunday morning, well over the minimum hazardous level of 200.
Other areas in the red include Bathurst, which shares Orange's rating of nearly six times the hazardous standard, as well as Armidale, Muswellbrook, Gunnedah, Narrabri, south-west Sydney, north-west Sydney and Goulburn, which is sitting at 904 on Sunday morning.
