The fire, on the corner of Jilba Street and Nunkeri Place, spread through the grass and engulfed several piles of rubbish although it's not known if that's where the fire started.
A port-a-loo that was situated on the block was undamaged.
The fire tops off a busy day for firefighters who were called to a blaze in March Street early Monday morning.
Poilce are investigating the March Street fire which destroyed a business premises and several historic cars which were housed there.
