William Street was temporarily closed, while March Street was closed between William Street and the train line for much of Monday.
Police arrived on the scene to find the shed "fully alight", but said the cause hadn't been fully determined, and police were asking for people
"The matter is ongoing and police are seeking any assistance from anyone who may have seen something in that area," Inspector Harvey said.
He said the loss of the cars and business premises was a "tragedy" for owners.
"Something like this just before Christmas is devastating for the owners," he said.
Powerpoles and power lines were also damaged in the blaze.
Investigations are ongoing.
Business owner Brad Selmes, who owns a mechanical repairs business in front of the fire-destroyed building, said he was contacted by police early on Monday morning and arrived at the scene a short time later to remove vehicles housed in his business.
