While based in The Sonic, her stores iglou and Jumbled have loyal customers across the country thanks to their owners' digital know how.
Mrs Brett said Facebook and Instagram are the most effective social tools for drawing customers to her online stores.
She said she launched the Facebook pages and Instagram handles with a curated-content plan, which has evolved since she began selling clothes online in 2006 and homewares, arts and furniture nine-years ago.
"You test things out and see what your audience engages with, you work out what works and then you do it again in a different way," she said.
Mrs Brett will be part of a panel discussing the benefits of social media for business on Wednesday.
Alongside, Tony Worland who is co-owner and head chef of award-winning restaurant Tonic, Madeline Young-Holborow, the owner of The Corner Store Gallery, as well as food writer and farmer Sophie Hansen, Mrs Brett will offer tips on what works online.
The free training event is part of a state government initiative to help business make the most of digital trends, which is being held as part of Small Business Month this October.
Unlike traditional advertising, Mrs Brett said social media offers customers an enjoyable way to engage with a brand.
"It gives you access to your customers in a non pushy way. Customers who are reaching out to you, looking for inspiration," she said.
Mrs Brett said while it can feel "scary" her advice is get started.
Facebook trainer, Melissa Westcott, will lead two training sessions after the panel.
As the founder of both TM3 Training Solutions and Big On Shoes, Ms Westcott has grown her business from a small home-based online store to a national e-commerce website and two retail stores.
She will provide an introductory workshop on getting businesses started on Facebook and Instagram and a session on creating visuals which capture the attention of customers.
The free training session will be held at the Orange Ex-Services' Club from 7.30-10.30am on October 30.
