Orange High School vice captain Thomas Radnedge, teacher Tegan Dray and parent and long-serving member of the P&C, Alison Duffield, were honoured at a ceremony in Sydney on Tuesday.
They were among 115 people and schools across NSW, and six from western NSW, to receive awards.
Thomas said he was thrilled to win the award for excellence in student achievement.
"I'm very excited to be honest. I'm really honoured," he said.
He said he had been heavily involved in the school community and leadership programs.
The Year 12 student said he hoped to find a career in politics.
He has also been acknowledged in the Defence Force Long Tan Leadership awards, the Secretary for a Day program and community group awards including from the Lions club.
Personal Development, Health and Physical Education teacher Tegan Dray won the Minister's Award for Excellence in Training.
She said she had been teaching at Orange High School for 10 years.
"I was aware I was being nominated. I was a bit surprised," she said.
Ms Dray has a major involvement in netball and had to leave coaching the Orange High School team at a Combined High School Sports Association event at Wollongong on Tuesday to attend the award ceremony in Sydney.
"I'm a little bit conflicted," she said.
Orange High School parent Alison Duffield has been involved with P&C groups for 14 years as her children have moved through primary and high school.
She said it was an honour to receive the Public School Parent of the Year award.
"It's great for P&Cs in general. P&Cs everywhere are struggling to get numbers so it is good to get recognition."
The citation supporting Mrs Duffield's nomination said she worked for the school in many ways including organising the Year 12 graduation "almost single-handedly."
