Member for Calare Andrew Gee spoke at the meeting to update councillors on his activities, saying drought continued to be a focus.
"The message I've taken to Canberra is we have to keep ramping up support, it can't be a one-off," he said.
Councillor Ian Davison asked whether a pipeline connection between Burrendong Dam and Yeoval could be investigated to add another connection to Cabonne's water supply.
"We haven't been able to guarantee jobs here because we can't guarantee water," he said.
Councillors also asked about further lobbying on the Bells Line of Road, however Mr Gee said it was a state responsibility and the state government had made it clear the Great Western Highway was its priority.
However, Mr Gee did say progress was being made on the Dixons Long Point Crossing design and hoped to go to tender by the end of the year.
The council also reported on Fortescue Metals' activities across Nashdale.
While the company had attended meetings of the Nashdale Action Group, Environmentally Concerned Citizens of Orange and NSW Farmers at Canowindra, as well as individual landholders, Cr Davison asked for a meeting to find out more about its activities.
The council gave $500 to the Central West Disc Golf for NSW Disc Golf Championship event to be held in Molong, $5000 to Orange Regional Vignerons Association for the 2019 Orange Wine Festival and $2000 to the Molong Advancement Group for PINK Up Molong during October.
