Councillors voted to allow Eastern Developments, which is building Quest Apartments, to reduce its parking contributions to $59,000 by allowing greater car stacking in its valet parking arrangements.
They chose to defer an application on Clinton Street, which proposed a second-storey dwelling above a garage after a nearby resident complained she would lose her northern sun.
They knocked back changes to the planned heliport at Highland Heritage Estate, which would have changed the stormwater arrangements, a move some felt would have put Orange's water supply at risk.
Councillors required a vote to decide the three voting delegates for the Local Government NSW annual conference - mayor Reg Kidd insisted one of the voting spots should go to the mayor, with the rest of the vote split between councillors Stephen Nugent, Tony Mileto and Kevin Duffy.
Cr Mileto withdrew after Cr Duffy stated voting rights should go to an experienced councillor.
Deputy mayor Sam Romano will also attend the conference as a non-voting delegate.
Councillor Scott Munro took the time to thank council sewer workers who unclogged a resident's sewer main last month and cleaned up the resulting mess.
