Since going down by two points to Peak Hill at the end of June, Dan Barclay's Tigers haven't lost a game and on the back of five wins and a draw have booked their place in the Cup's finals.
They've skipped ahead of a slipping Grenfell outfit, the Goannas now clinging to the edge of the top five following a disappointing loss against Molong at The Rec on Sunday.
The visiting Goannas led 22-6 at one stage but conceded the final 30 points of the round 17 fixture and now sit in fifth on the ladder, a solitary point ahead of Peak Hill on the ladder.
The Roosters enjoy a final round bye and will bank two competition points from that, meaning Steve Taylor's Goannas must beat Condobolin in this weekend's last round to play finals footy.
Meanwhile, Peak Hill's run without losing a game was stopped at the hands of the Rhinos, a 30-14 victory to the red and white a welcome return to form for Simon Osborne's side.
The Rhinos had lost three of their last five games heading into the Roosters clash but will finish in second on the ladder regardless of the result out of Sunday's derby with Molong at Jack Huxley Oval.
Canowindra has locked up fourth spot with a 70-6 win over Condobolin Rams leading many within the Cup's ranks to the belief the black and golds are a serious title threat come grand final day.
While Cargo continued Eugowra's retched run in 2019 with a 82-8 mauling of the Golden Eagles.
The Blue Heelers are ruing a couple of close losses which could have seen them in a fight for the five heading into next week's clash with Trundle, rather than sitting in seventh place.
In league tag, Cargo have wrapped up the minor premiership with a big 104-4 win over Eugowra, congratulations to Anthony Reagan and his team.
Second placed Grenfell Goannas won 36-12 over Molong, while Condobolin hold fourth place with a close 18-14 win over Canowindra.

In youth league the third-placed Cargo won 32-22 over the minor premiers Manildra.
Grenfell were 20-10 winners in a close one, while Trundle had the bye.
