Police were carrying out a search warrant in the bedroom of Aiden James Reginald Davis, of Raines Place, when they found the items as well as Nintendo DS games that were suspected to be stolen.
According to police, officers from Central West Police District found the items on May 7, and found the two .223 calibre rounds and a .30-30 calibre round in a wrapped package, as well as a magazine for a .22 calibre rifle in another wrapped package.
Police also found half a counterfeit $50 note, for which he was given a 12-month conditional release order without a conviction.
In a zip-up pouch police found the two Nintendo DS games, which Davis said he was given in exchange for $50 worth of cannabis.
Davis was in custody having been refused bail on other matters when he appeared via audio visual link before Magistrate David Day in court.
For possession of the gun magazine he convicted Davis without further penalty but the magazine was also seized and forfeited.
Mr Day gave Davis a two-year-old conditional release order for possession of the ammunition, which was forfeited to the crown.
Solicitor Andrew Abraham said "he tells me it's something his grandfather gave him as a child and it's something he's long owned," of the firearms offences.
Mr Day also gave Davis a 12-month supervised community correction order, with conditions he attend rehabilitation and abstain from drugs, for possession of the Nintendo games.
Davis was also sentenced and convicted for offences at Cobar on June 5.
He was given a 12-month conditional release order with conviction for possession of two grams of cannabis.
He was convicted without further penalty for driving while never licensed, and he was given a 12-month community correction order with conditions of rehabilitation and abstaining from drugs for having possession of $120.80 that was suspected to be stolen.
He was stopped by police due to a high number of property offences that had taken place in the area he was in.
The offences put Davis in breach of a conditional release order he was given on April 23, and a community correction order for stealing from a person he was given last year.
The community correction order was revoked and he was given a new 18-month CCO starting from last Wednesday.
