Orange City Council's Tidy Towns committee presented an appreciation certificate to Canobolas Caravan Propriety Limited for its work rehabilitating the derelict service station in Bathurst Road.
The company purchased the site recently in order to widen the driveway to Canobolas Caravan Park and add a display area to Jayco Orange and Canobolas Marine Centre.
The former service station building was retained and renovated into a showroom.
Director Lee Mackenzie said it had been a 12-month process to transform the site.
"The [fuel] tanks had been removed but they had chucked in basic fill so we had to dug it up and put proper land base in," he said.
"It was a derelict service station for 10 years, it was a fairly major eyesore and it's the entrance coming into the city."
Individuals, businesses and community groups still have time to nominate themselves for this year's NSW Sustainable Communities Tidy Towns awards.
Held in November in Cessnock, they are an opportunity to share project attempts and successes with like-minded groups to learn from each other.
The two days include networking with sustainability leaders across the state and finalist case studies.
Nominations for the awards close on July 8.
