For Mr McNamara, it marks the end of 30 years at the credit union where he started in finance in 1989 and served almost 15 years as general manager.
He said the biggest changes had been internet and smartphone banking.

"I love the mutual banking industry because it's customer-owned - the total focus is on the members," he said.
Mr de Graaff comes to the business from the Hume Bank in Albury and his mother grew up in Orange.
He said with increasing regulation, the credit union faced the challenge of complying while still being able to help its customers.
"We need to be innovative in our work," he said.
Mr McNamara will spend some time travelling overseas with his wife before re-evaluating his options.
Motel renos
TUCKED behind the Metropolitan Hotel in Anson Street, the Town Centre Motel is seeking to make a larger impression.
The motel's 29 rooms have been gradually undergoing renovations for the past three years, which owner Mark Murphy said aimed to modernise the accommodation offering.
He said about $1 million had been outlaid so far, with eight rooms completed so far and six rooms in progress.
"The whole room is stripped down to the concrete, no tiles, no nothing, everything comes out of the place," he said.
From there, the rooms are refinished with new furniture, better Wi-Fi and updated technology.
Mr Murphy said completing the renovations in stages helped the business hone the finished product as customers returned feedback.
The hotel's pub accommodation is also undergoing upgrades.
Shave for cancer
WESTPAC'S Orange branch has reached its $2000 target to help fight breast cancer, culminating in a beard-shaving last week.
Branch manager Dom Porter sat in the barber's chair on Tuesday while Mane Man's Pat Hodgson took off his beard for the cause.
