$25 million - that's quite a bit of money. And in a day and age of huge global issues, why are we wasting a sum of money like this on a new stadium?

The Premier of NSW's promise to fund a $25 million stadium in North Orange may have just been a blackmail tactic to attempt to win another seat, however with the promise being fulfilled even without the win, the question remains - does Orange need another field?
We already have so many sporting grounds and fields, is there really a point of putting another stadium in Orange, especially so close to the already existing Waratahs?
Why spend this $25 million on something that we really don't need, instead of improving Orange's current infrastructure?
Why not spend the $25 million fixing up or adding to the existing stadiums in Orange that already have the potential to host everything the new proposed stadium would?
Or, why not spend the $25 million creating a new public space that everyone can enjoy, adding to the already great parks Orange has and helping with climate change by planting some much needed trees?
I could continue on all day, but you get the idea.
Why spend this $25 million on something that we really don't need, instead of improving Orange's current infrastructure and making it a safer and more desirable place to live for us all?
