The party starts on Wednesday at 6.30pm for 7pm with a History Alive meeting at the Senior Citizens Centre.
A presentation painting the scene of what life was like in Orange in 1949 will be followed by three speakers, George White, Harold Balcomb and Merv Wilkie, recounting their memories of the time.
Entry is $4 for society members and $6 for non-members.
The era was a changing time for Orange with the Emmco/Electrolux factory only three years old and the first post-war European immigrants arriving in the region only a year before.
The costume dress-up event is a dinner at Duntryleague on Saturday May 25 for which bookings are required.
Contact Karen Kloosterman at k.kloosterman212@gmail.com for more information on the dinner.
Other events this year include a workshop, the opening of an exhibition titled All in A Day's Work at the Orange Regional Museum and the launch of a biography on the Dalton family, which is set for mid-November.
