Orange City councillor Stephen Nugent said the community was invited to participate in the activities from noon to 4pm.
It will include a jumping castle, a barbecue, Indigenous games, sport, Mother's Day gift workshops and sports.
"The main purpose is to start the conversation about the future of Glenroi Oval in the context of developing the master plan which council approved last December," he said.
Cr Nugent said Dr Georgina Luscomb from Sydney University will conduct the consultation process with the people attending the community day.
He said it was intended the local community would drive the decision making about the oval's future.
