It's the first time Belmonte has won the event, and something he tweeted he wanted to do for nearly a decade.
The Orange maestro moves into 11th on the list of most PBA titles alongside Marshall Holman following his 224-213 win over Arizona's Jakob Butturff at the Tokyo Port Bowl.
Winning in front of the Japanese crowd means a lot; I'm very honoured.
- Jason Belmonte
After qualifying third for the stepladder finals, Belmonte eliminated Chris Barnes of Double Oak, Texas, 245-220, and Japan's Takuya Miyazawa, 227-189, to advance to the title match.
"It was just grind, grind, grind - make my shots," Belmonte said afterwards.
"I missed one spare for the entire tournament - a two-pin, and that was just a frustration shot that got the best of me but, other than that I'm extremely happy with this performance.
"Winning in front of the Japanese crowd means a lot; I'm very honoured."
Belmonte returns to Australia on Tuesday for a month's break in the PBA Tour schedule which will resume when the PBA Playoffs Championship series resumes in the United States in early June.
