KNet Enterprises has partnered with Telstra to provide in-network cloud communications recording, a piece of software allowing companies to record voice calls and texts from any mobile or landline device and access the communications through a portal later.
Chief executive officer Jeff Whitton said there were several applications, from companies dealing in financial transactions through to small business owners.
"Any discussions [companies] have with customers or colleagues that are influencing outcomes in the financial industry have to be recorded and kept for a minimum of seven years, so they need a solution that can provide that," he said.
"Tradies spending a lot of time in a vehicle get calls from customers and they have to pull over and write down the details - with this, it's recorded and someone in the office can log into the portal, listen to the recording and fulfil the requirements the client has asked for.
Tradies tend to lose 60 per cent of business because they haven't kept all the information.
- Jeff Whitton
"Tradies tend to lose 60 per cent of business because they forget what they've been asked to do or haven't kept all the information."
The software was developed by Enghouse Networks in Canada - KNet made it fit within Telstra's system and will manage its customers.
Mr Whitton said while the partnership was a milestone for the Orange business, large companies had no concerns using regional suppliers.
"I've never lost business because our head office is in Orange," he said.
"What we do see is a lot of regionally-based companies choose to use metro-based businesses because they don't think we have the technical qualifications."
Mr Whitton said other regional businesses should back themselves.
"Distance isn't a barrier anymore," he said.
"If you've got a good service or product, it doesn't matter who your partner is, they're going to buy it."
