Creator, Glenn Sutherland has donated the painting which will be hung where the children and staff come together for lunch, and where parents often meet to pick up their kids.
Center director Tanya Lamers said she hopes the painting will help keep the conversation about Australia's Indigenous heritage alive at the facility.
"This painting will be the catalyst for a lot of learning at the centre," she said.
"It's education for staff and hopefully a chance for the kids to educate their families."
Mr Sutherland is a former resident of Orange. His niece Anne Sutherland is an educator at the centre and her son Patrick Sutherland is a student there.
He said the painting depicts the three rivers which represent the Wiradjuri People – the Wambool (Macquarie), the Calare (Lachlan) and the Murrumbidgee.
Mr Sutherland said his motivation for painting is to tell the tales of the past.
"I try to keep stories active because we're slowly losing them," he said.
