A 47-year-old Orange man died on Thursday after his car crashed into a tree on Glenroi Avenue.

The incident is believed to have occurred at about 7.30am when the man’s car diverted from the road, mounted the nature strip and hit a tree.

Emergency services responded to the incident and freed the man from the sedan before treating him at the scene.
He was able to walk away from the crash and into an ambulance, but he was then transferred to Orange hospital where he later died.
Police are yet to determine what caused the man’s car to veer from Glenroi Avenue, and investigations are under way to find out how fast the vehicle was travelling at the time of the crash.
Central West Police District Inspector Dave Harvey said a crash investigations unit had come from Bathurst to inspect the scene.
