Dallas Bernie Theobald, 36, of Currong Crescent, was caught following a wild goose chase after police spotted him driving at 12.05am on January 1 in Jindalee Avenue.
Police noticed the car due to Theobald’s driving technique and because he appeared to be attempting to evade police.
Theobald turned onto Algona Crescent, Jilba Street, Margaret Street, Mirral Way, Nunkeri Place, Jilba Street, Phillip Street and Leeds Parade before he was stopped in Honeyman Drive to be breath tested.

After returning a positive result Theobald was arrested and taken to Orange Police Station where he returned a reading of 0.096.
He told police he had three glasses of red wine and his last drink was at midnight.
He was fined $660 and his driver’s licence was disqualified for three months and he will have to have an interlock device fitted to his car for 12 months.
Theobald was also fined $770 and his driver’s licence was disqualified for 12 months because his driver’s licence was cancelled at the time of the offence.
In another matter, Andrea Babette Knight, 40, of Endeavour Avenue, was given a 15-month community correction order, 50 hours of community service, her driver’s licence was disqualified for three months and she will have an interlock device fitted to her car for 12 months.
She’s not going to jail but if she keeps it up she will.

She was caught driving with a mid-range alcohol reading of 0.087 after being stopped by police on Sale Street at 10.20pm on December 8.
Magistrate David Day said she had previous high-range and mid-range drink matters on her record.
“She’s not going to jail but if she keeps it up she will,” Mr Day said.
According to police Knight said she had two white wines mixed with soft drink one at noon and another at 1pm but she had about 15 glasses of wine and soft drink the previous day.
Anthony William Jones, 37, of Goorawin Road, was caught driving a Holden Commodore in Peisley Street with a mid-range reading of 0.086 on December 1 at 3.10am.
Jones was given a 12-month conditional release order and his driver’s licence was disqualified for five months.
According to police Jones told them he had “a taste of Jim Beam” but then said “I know it’s going to be enough to put me over”.
