The Canberra outfit is an under-12 side, and has been competing as the Emerging Comets in the Sydney District Competition so far this season, and despite manager Nick Smith saying they’d had their “ups and downs” this season the boys were all “really excited” to come to Orange.
“It’s one of the highlights of the calendar for the boys,” he said.
For most of the boys Orange is their big exposure to turf wickets.

“They generally play on synthetic and for most of the boys, Orange is their big exposure to turf wickets.”
The players from the side were mixed through the two ACT sides – ACT also send a Blue outfit away – but Smith said the chance for the Yellow team to play together was a genuinely exciting one.
“It’s fantastic to come and play as a team,” Smith said.
