The Stewart family was “amazed” at the generosity of Deidre Kinghorn and an anonymous donor who dropped off a food hamper and fairy lights to replace what was stolen from them a week before Christmas.
Jodie Stewart said it was nice to be able to show their children the Christmas spirit was still alive and there’s still kind people in Orange.
When I saw what happened I thought ‘this is awful – how could anyone do this?’
- Deidre Kinghorn
She said she’d since heard of more fairy light thefts in the neighbourhood and would use the donated lights to bring some cheer to the area.

She said by coming forward to donate lights and a food hamper she hoped the children would see “at times the town can pull together and do some good”.
