Group secretary Joe Maric said they were keen to draw up a master plan to develop Glenroi Oval and Edye Park.
“We had six new members from the community,” he said.
Mr Maric said representatives of the police, the department of Family and Community Services, Orange council and councillors, plus sporting groups had attended.
It was all about listening to the community, what the community wants.

“It was all about listening to the community, what the community wants,” he said.
Mr Maric said they would like to see the sporting fields developed to allow sport to be again played on them.
That would include potentially replacing old toilets at Glenroi Oval with facilities around the Glenroi Community Centre on Garema Road.
He said the Orange United Sports Club, which assists people on low incomes to play sport, would now be based at the Garema Road centre.
The Glenroi Community Group had proposed a Glenroi United sporting club be set up, but they were unaware of the other group until representatives attended Monday night’s meeting.
“They said, ‘we’re already doing this, there is no point doubling up on this’,” he said.
Mr Maric said they would look at what sports could be played in Glenroi and eventually ask council to develop the grounds to suit those sports.
That would include better use of the new basketball facility in the area.
Mr Maric said the community also expressed concerns about crime in the area.
“This seems to be a problem, the community brought this out,” he said.
Mr Maric said they would likely write to the Member for Orange Philip Donato for his help in asking the state government to allocate more police officers for the Glenroi area.
The next meeting of the Glenroi Community Group is at the Community Centre on Monday, December 17 from 6pm.
