Steve Eslick, Jordan Clark, Hayden Swallow, Nick Flannery and Edward Johnson made the trek to Tenpin City in Lidcombe over the weekend, while Ben Walsh and Craig Rochester were both unable to make the journey after competing in the qualifying stages.
The top three teams from the four regional zones in NSW all made the trek to Lidcombe, playing 11 games across two days.
“We’re pretty stoked about it,” captain Hayden Swallow said. “We were over the moon.”
“It was a pretty big in, it’s been going for over 30 years and we’ve never won a state title.”
The side played seven games on Saturday and four on Sunday, going into the final day Orange were neck and neck with Hume and Gosford.
However, they pulled away during games against their challengers to record a comfortable six-point victory.
Swallow was also awarded the Sportsmanship award for the second year in a row, which he said was an “honour”.
“I don’t know everyone who bowls so to be voted for by absolute strangers is amazing,” he said.
The women’s side finished in fourth in the Ladies' Challenge.
