AN estimated 5000 people descended on East Orange Public School once again for the East Orange Village Markets on Sunday.
Market manager Belinda Drane said the 150 stallholders enjoyed a lucrative day selling and commented on the way it was run.
“There was just lovely weather and great atmosphere,” she said.
“We’ve got 207 sites and the forecast put a few off so they’re probably kicking themselves now – it was just a perfect day, we couldn’t have asked for anything better.”
During the past eight years of the markets, funds raised have paid for turfing the top playground, play equipment and a kitchen for the students.
As the school’s major fundraiser, Ms Drane said last year’s market raised $20,000 and she was quietly confident this year’s take could be even higher.
