A 20-year-old man was left in a critical condition after a crash on Thursday night on the Mitchell Highway near Dairy Creek Road.

The man, who is from Sydney, was driving a Pantech truck which left the roadway at about 10pm, crashing into fencing.
He was airlifted to hospital in Sydney to be treated.
The road was closed for over an hour, with traffic being diverted via the Northern Distributor.
Central West Police District Chief Inspector Peter Atkins said investigations into the crash were still ongoing, but at this stage did not believe there was another vehicle involved in the incident.
Chief Inspector Atkins asked anyone who witnessed it or has information on the crash to contact Orange police on 6363 6399 or at the station on Byng Street.
