Sarah said she had been back chatting her parents and having some issues on social media before the camp, but said even after four days she already felt stronger.
“At first I was really nervous and not confident at all, but now I feel more confident and more used to it. At home I don’t do as much as I should. I want to do more exercise and get off my phone and away from social media,” she said.
The program is run by Veteran Mentors, a group of ex-servicemen and women using military training to help children facing issues such as technology addiction and bullying.
The program involves children aged 9 to 17 working together to face challenges such as getting back to nature and learning how to communicate without the means of technology, all while pushing personal limits.
