The official opening will also mark a new chapter for the Orange Police and Community Youth Club (PCYC), which has moved from its former Byng Street premises into the new venue.
Orange City Council yesterday urged members of the public to join federal parliamentary secretary for infrastructure, transport, regional development and local government, Maxine McKew, for the official opening at 11.30am on Monday.
“It’s pretty funny, I remember back in 1968 going to the opening of the old Police Boys Club in Byng Street and here we are now, 40 years later, doing the same thing up here at Anzac Park,” the Orange Mayor Reg Kidd, said yesterday.
“We want as many people to come up here as possible, everybody is welcome to take part and see what an amazing asset this will be for the next 40 or more years.”
PCYC chief executive officer Chris Gardiner and Cr Kidd will also attend the opening along with Ms McKew.
