ORANGE CYMS have added some extra muscle with the signing of former NSW Country representative Asa Amone and Luke O'Neill.
Both will play front row for the Orange club and will add much needed size to the CYMS forward pack.
"We'll have some big boys up front," Amone said.
The pair also give captain-coach Neil Orcher experience in his side with Amone, 39 and O'Neill, 35.
Amone is confident he can still match it with the younger forwards running around in Group 10 after a long career that has seen him play in New Zealand, England and around the central west.
The former goalkicking centre turned prop contemplated retirement after Orange Hawks won the Group 10 competition in 2003 but has continued to play on and last season had a stint with Woodbridge Cup premiers Cargo.
The front rowers have both played for Hawks and are more than happy linking with their cross-town rivals.
Both bookends think CYMS are looking strong for next season after finishing sixth this year due to a lack of go forward.
"They're not looking too bad," O'Neill said.
"They look alright to me," Amone said. "It's a bit exciting."
Amone and O'Neill are welcome additions to the CYMS pack and will give great support to the likes of Wade Judd and Tim Trudgett.
The two signings join a long list of new CYMS recruits sought out in a busy off-season by new president Matt King.
King has managed to secure the services of Orcher and hooker Billy-Joe Francis from Manildra as well as Tim Zinga from Cargo and Glenn Nunn from Mid West champions Blayney.
CYMS have also managed to lure back-rower Grant Spurr back to the club.
